Background

Makerere University invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for various academic, administrative, and support staff positions.

Job Purpose

Plan and manage all surveying works for the University.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Generate Bills of Quantities and specifications;
  • Monitor all ongoing projects
  • Evaluate project and maintenance costs;
  • Endorse the certificates of works before payments are made;
  • Assist in establishing the client’s requirement and undertaking feasibility studies;
  • Perform risk, value management and cost control;
  • Provide advice on procurement strategy;
  • Identify, analyze and develop responses to commercial risks;
  • Prepare and analyze costs for tenders.

Required Qualifications

  • Honours Bachelor of Science Degree in Quantity Surveying or Bachelor of Science Degree in Building Economics;
  • Must be a Professional Member of the Institution of Surveyors of Uganda;
  • Must be a Registered Quantity Surveyor with a valid practicing license from the Surveyors Registration Board of Uganda (SRB).

Experience

Three (3) years relevant working experience

Skills/Competences

  • Good communication, leadership and interpersonal skills;
  • Proficient in using relevant computer packages;
  • Team work and team building;
  • High integrity.

Tenure of Appointment

4-year contract

Age Limit
