ABOUT KRAY MICROFINANCE

Kray Microfinance Limited is a fast-growing microfinance institution focused on financial inclusion through account opening, investment and credit growth. We operate a territory-based field model and are seeking disciplined, results-driven Field Banking Officers to grow and manage customer relationships within gazetted areas.

ROLE PURPOSE

The Field Banking Officer (FBO) is a frontline field role responsible for:

a. Opening new customer accounts

b. Mobilising investments

c. Building long-term customer relationships

d. Operating strictly within an assigned gazetted territory

This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy fieldwork, customer engagement, and performance-based growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

A. New Account Opening

  • Actively identify and onboard new customers within the assigned territory
  • Educate customers on Kray Microfinance products and services
  • Ensure accurate completion of account opening documentation

B. Savings Mobilisation

  • Mobilize regular customer deposits (daily, weekly, monthly)
  • Encourage consistent saving behaviour among customers
  • Follow up on deposit commitments and inactive accounts

C. Investment Mobilisation

  • Market and explain Kray investment products to eligible customers
  • Convert savers into investment customers
  • Support customers through the investment onboarding process

D. Territory Management & Discipline

  • Work strictly within the assigned gazetted territory
  • Build deep knowledge of businesses, households, and groups in the territory
  • Maintain visibility and consistent presence in the territory

E. Customer Relationship Management

  • Build trust-based relationships with customers
  • Provide basic after-sales support and follow-up
  • Address customer inquiries and escalate issues appropriately

F. Collections Support

  • Follow up customers on agreed deposit or repayment commitments
  • Support branch collections activities as guided
  • Ensure proper documentation and confirmations for all collections

G. Daily Field Reporting

  • Submit daily activity reports including:
    • Area worked
    • Accounts opened
    • Deposits mobilized & Investments mobilised
  • Participate in weekly performance reviews

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Minimum Requirements:

  • Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE), Diploma, or Bachelor’s degree
  • Previous experience in sales, marketing, microfinance, banking, or FMCG is an added advantage
  • Willingness to work full-time in the field

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • High level of discipline and honesty
  • Self-motivated and target-driven
  • Ability to work outdoors and walk long distances
  • Basic record-keeping and reporting skills
  • Good understanding of local communities (added advantage)
