Description
Job title: Finance Manager-PlantationJobs
Site Location: Sango Bay
Reporting to: Financial Controller locally and to Africa Plantation CFO regionally.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
Manage the day-to-day finance and accounting operations of the plantation and ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions.
Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports, cash-flow forecasts, budgets and variance analysis.Management
• Lead the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting process, with particular focus on plantation development and establishment costs.
Monitor development expenditure against approved budgets, identify variances and provide management with clear explanations and corrective recommendations.
Establish and maintain effective financial controls over procurement, payments, payroll, inventory, assets and cash management.
Monitor plantation development costs, including land preparation, planting, seedlings, fertilizer, labour, roads, drainage, buildings, equipment and other capital expenditure.
Manage cash-flow requirements and ensure adequate funds are available for ongoing plantation development and operations.
Review accounts payable, receivables, payroll, bank reconciliations, fixed assets and general ledger activities.
Ensure compliance with applicable tax, statutory. accounting and financial reporting requirements.
Coordinate with auditors, tax advisors, banks and other external stakeholders as required.
Support management in evaluating major investments, procurement decisions and development projects through financial analysis.Management
Ensure consistent compliance with established accounting policies, SOPs and internal controls, and provide regular training and guidance to finance and relevant operational staff on their proper implementation.
Lead, supervise and develop the finance team to ensure efficient and accurate delivery of finance activities.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field (required).
Degree in Accounting, or Finance (preferred).
Plantation experience (preferred)
Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in Finance Department.
Experience in managing a team
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficiency in SAP is an added advantage.
