Background information about the job or company:

Exquisite Solution Limited, a leading HR recruitment and management firm, is seeking a Financial Controller for our client, a multi-site operator in the services sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting across various locations. This role involves close collaboration with Finance, Operations, Compliance, HR, and IT to support timely month-end closures, reconciliations, and regulatory submissions.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Head of Finance to lead the Finance team, ensuring high-quality reporting, budgeting, compliance, and strategic financial insights.
  • Provide accurate and timely monthly management accounts and support the preparation of annual financial statements.
  • Drive the budgeting and forecasting process in collaboration with department heads.
  • Analyze financial data and present insights to the CEO and senior management to support strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of all financial accounting and reporting processes.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement to strengthen financial controls and operational efficiency.
  • Conduct and oversee internal audits to ensure legal, contractual, and financial compliance across all organizational activities.
  • Implement robust internal controls, including pre- and post-audit interventions.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and manage cash flow forecasting for the business.
  • Conduct value-for-money audits on assets and major company purchases.
  • Monitor and report on performance against financial targets across multiple projects and service lines.
  • Lead financial strategy development and maintain effective financial reporting systems.
  • Ensure efficiency in managing accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll processes.
  • Mentor and develop junior members of the finance team to build internal capacity

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A Certified accountant (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) with a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Solid experience in financial reporting, audits, and internal controls, with a strong understanding of financial systems.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities to manage and interpret complex financial data accurately.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively across departments and with external auditors.
  • Demonstrated adaptability and willingness to support system upgrades, process improvements, and other change initiatives within the finance function.
  • Committed to continuous professional development and staying updated on regulatory and compliance standards.
