Donswift is seeking a Head of Business for a full-time position in the Banking industry.

Responsibilities or duties

Business Growth

  • Drive initiatives that maximize cross-selling opportunities for the benefit of the bank in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Monitor and review the deposit, investment, transactional and digital products portfolios on a periodic basis to evaluate quality and performance.
  • Deliver on overall management of the Business, Marketing, Digital products and product development departments while ensuring growth of the bank's profitability.
  • Work with the Credit and Investment department to drive the management of the bank's credit and investment processes end to end, from customer recruitment, financing processing or underwriting, credit & investment information review and reporting.
  • Ensure proper provision of a wide range of financial services responsibly to the bank's customers.
  • Gather relevant market intelligence data and competitor analysis to ensure timely interventions and strategies for growth of the bank's assets and liabilities.

Operations

  • Oversee a seamless teller counter and back office operations process that is in adherence to all operational risk procedures.

Risk and Compliance

  • Implement a strong risk management culture, paying attention to credit, operational, reputational, compliance and ethical risks in order to reduce losses through prevention and detection.
  • Provide sound partnership capability with all the group's strategic business lines including corporate, institutional and treasury business, to ensure all client needs across segments targeted by the group are comprehensively addressed and business growth objectives in those sectors are met.

Customer Service

  • Ignite and lead a customer service culture to achieve a customer-centric business model where customer needs are placed at the forefront of the team's strategies and plans.

Team Leadership

  • Take full responsibility for performance management of all direct reports, focusing on all aspects of sound people management, e.g. recruitment, development, performance management, remuneration and rewards, career path planning, on-the-job training, coaching & mentoring, and employee engagement.

Cost Control

  • Drive a cost-efficient business culture that maximizes return on resources utilized and fosters strict adherence to budgets with minimal variances between budget and actual performance.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

Education

  • An Honours degree in business or a related field from a recognized University.
  • Post-graduate qualifications / Professional Course in a relevant discipline would be an added advantage.
