Job Summary

Reporting to the CEO – East Africa and serving as a member of EXCO, the successful candidate will lead C-Care’s quality, patient safety and clinical governance agenda, ensuring high standards of care, sustained accreditation, regulatory compliance and continuous improvement across the region.Occupational Health & Safety

Job Details

  • Lead the regional quality, patient safety and clinical governance strategy aligned with C-Care priorities and standards.
  • Advise the CEO and EXCO on quality performance, clinical risk, regulatory exposure and improvement priorities.
  • Provide executive oversight of COHSASA accreditation, continuous readiness and regulatory compliance across C-Care facilities.
  • Oversee patient safety and clinical risk systems, including incidents, near misses, root cause analysis, corrective actions and organisational learning.
  • Monitor quality, clinical outcome and patient experience indicators, using data, audits and benchmarking to drive improvement and executive reporting.
  • Strengthen clinical governance, policies, standards and assurance frameworks that support safe, effective and patient-centred care.
  • Lead and develop the Quality function while building a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement across clinical and operational teams.

Requirements

  • Degree in Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Healthcare Management or a related healthcare discipline; a relevant postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in healthcare quality, patient safety or clinical governance, including senior leadership experience in a hospital or multi-site healthcare environment.
  • Proven leadership of quality improvement, accreditation and regulatory compliance programmes; direct COHSASA experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong executive presence, judgement, analytical capability and ability to influence clinicians, senior leaders and regulators.
