JOB SUMMARY:

The Information, Communication & Technology (ICT) Teacher plays a vital role in advancing the spiritual, academic, and personal development of students while contributing actively to the mission and values of Lead 4 Africa School Uganda Limited. The ICT Teacher is specifically responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in Information, Communication & Technology, equipping students with digital literacy, technical skills, and the ability to apply technology effectively in academic and professional contexts. The teacher supports competency-based learning by fostering critical thinking, creativity, communication, collaboration, and digital literacy among students. The role includes providing pastoral support and mentorship, maintaining accurate academic records, participating in co-curricular activities, and fostering a safe, inclusive, and Christ-centered learning environment.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Spiritual Leadership and Christian Formation

• Model Christian values, integrity, professionalism, and servant leadership in all interactions and responsibilities.

• Participate actively in school worship programmes, Christian fellowships, devotions, and spiritual formation activities.

2. Teaching, Learning, and Assessment

• Develop comprehensive schemes of work, lesson plans, and instructional materials aligned with the prescribed curriculum and departmental guidelines.

• Utilize diverse instructional strategies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.

• Monitor and evaluate student progress, identify learning gaps, and implement appropriate intervention and remedial support programmes.
• Integrate practical, hands-on activities, projects, and real-world applications of ICT skills.
• Maintain current subject knowledge and integrate curriculum updates, emerging trends, and relevant learning resources into teaching practice.

3. Student Development, Pastoral Care, and Discipline

• Create and maintain a positive, respectful, safe, and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning.

• Provide pastoral care, guidance, and mentorship to students, supporting their academic, social, emotional, and spiritual development.

4. Computer Lab and ICT Resource Management

• Manage and maintain the school's computer laboratory, ensuring all equipment is functional and properly maintained.
• Supervise the use of computers, software, and other ICT resources by students and staff.
• Coordinate the setup, installation, and maintenance of computer hardware, software, and network systems.
• Ensure the security and safety of ICT equipment and data in line with school policies.
• Maintain accurate inventory records of all ICT equipment, software licenses, and related resources.
• Monitor and manage the school's internet connectivity and network infrastructure.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for staff and students as needed.
• Ensure responsible and ethical use of technology, including cybersecurity awareness and data protection.

5. Administration and School Operations

• Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and confidential records of student attendance, assessment results, academic progress, and behavioural concerns.
• Prepare and submit reports, grades, lesson documentation, and other records within established timelines.
• Adhere to all school policies, procedures, and professional standards.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behaviour, and welfare.
• Participate actively in departmental meetings, staff meetings, committees, and school improvement initiatives.
• Support the planning and implementation of school programmes, events, educational trips, exhibitions, competitions, and community engagement activities.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Essential Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Education (ICT/Computer Studies) or a relevant
• Bachelor's Degree with a Postgraduate Diploma in Education.
• Specialization in Information, Communication & Technology (ICT) and/or Computer Studies.
• Minimum of two (2) years of teaching experience in a secondary school or a similar educational setting.
• Demonstrated competence in practical ICT instruction and classroom teaching.
