The role:
The IND BU (Industry Business Unit) Manager will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of the IND technical and commercial strategy. The primary focus of this role will be to manage inspectors and subcontracted teams during project and operations planning and execution, as well as to develop the Industry Business, especially in the Oil & Gas sector.
The key responsibilities of the right candidate will include:
- Develop and implement the overall business strategy for the BU, aligned with the company's vision and goals
- Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities
- Set annual objectives, budgets, and KPIs for the BU with the CCE
- Oversee the day-to-day operations and performance of the BU
- Manage a team of functional leaders (e.g. sales, operations, finance) to ensure effective cross-functional coordination
- Monitor KPIs and take corrective actions to optimize business performance
- Provide a high level of technical expertise within the relevant discipline to both internal and external clients.
- Assist in management and mitigation of client complaints.
- Ensure compliance to Group and Client inspection procedures.
- Build and lead a high-performing team of professionals
- Provide coaching, development, and performance management for direct reports
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Foster and nurture a mentoring culture through the team of technical staff for existing and new inspectors
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities that align with the BU strategy
- Collaborate with the sales team to generate pipeline and close deals
- Represent the BU in key client and partner meetings. Where required attend conferences and other sales and marketing events.
Qualifications & Skills Requirements:
Academic qualifications, skills and experience
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering
- Minimum 8 years relevant Engineering Experience
- Strong strategic and analytical thinking skills
- Excellent people management and team-building abilities
- In depth knowledge of Oil and Gas regulations and related inspection standards
- Project Management skills
- Good communication skills, including ability to write detailed technical reports
- Customers’ orientation
- Proficient in use of Ms Office Suite & computer skills
Other competencies
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- An intrinsic task master and ability to plan and track complex projects.
- Good leadership abilities and skills.
- Team player
- Astute listening, empowerment, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to easily learn unique job-related vocabulary.
- Quickly understand and use processes, technologies and ideas that are continually being updated.
- Learns highly complex information regarding a product or operation and being open and understand new ideas
