Dalilang Foods & Beverages is a Ugandan FMCG manufacturer producing packaged snacks, including potato crisps, gonja chips, coated peanuts and peanut butter, alongside spring water, fruit nectars and energy drinks.
Operate high speed roll fed sticker labelers, shrink sleeve applicators, and heat shrink tunnels to ensure accurate and efficient packaging output.
Maintain packaging line flow and product presentation by upholding end to end quality standards, strict safety protocols, and machine integrity.
Monitor equipment performance, minimize packaging waste, and keep comprehensive production and compliance records.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate high speed roll fed sticker labelers, shrink sleeve applicators, and heat shrink tunnels in accordance with approved operating procedures.
- Thread label rolls, adjust glue or heat tunnel temperatures, and align label registration to maintain precise packaging specifications.
- Conduct quality inspections, sampling, and verification routines, immediately removing non conforming items to protect product standards.
- Identify, document, and contain process deviations or equipment faults, participating actively in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Maintain complete, legible, and traceable logs of machine settings, shift outputs, material usage, and equipment inspections.
- Follow all occupational health and safety, food safety, hygiene, and lockout or isolation protocols during machine operation and changeovers.
- Sequence daily production plans efficiently to prevent bottlenecks, unnecessary downtime, and material waste.
- Collaborate cross functionally with upstream and downstream packaging teams to ensure smooth handovers and coordinated shift operations.
- Support internal and external compliance audits, including UNBS and food safety inspections, by maintaining an audit ready workstation and accurate records.
Skills
- Label roll threading and precision label registration alignment
- Glue and heat shrink tunnel temperature adjustment and monitoring
- Packaging quality inspection and non conformance identification
- Machine setup, routine operational troubleshooting, and basic maintenance
- Production record keeping and digital interface or PLC/HMI navigation
- Workplace safety, machine isolation, and food hygiene compliance
Education Qualifications & Experience
Education Qualifications
- Ordinary Diploma, Higher Diploma, or National Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Printing Technology.
- Bachelor's degree, Higher Diploma, Ordinary Diploma, or National Diploma in Food Science and Technology, Food Processing Technology, Packaging Technology, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related science or engineering discipline.
- Relevant laboratory or technical certifications, including HACCP, ISO 9001, ISO 22000, or food safety training, are an added advantage.

- 1+ year operating packaging labelers or sleeve machinery.
