Description

Infectious Diseases Research Collaboration is hiring a Laboratory Technician (2) with following duties and responsibilities;

Job Requirements/Responsibilities:

  • Carry out laboratory screening of patients
  • Preparation, Staining, reading and storage of blood smears
  • Sampling, processing and storage of blood for haematology, biochemistry and PK component of the study
  • Prepare and organize sample shipment
  • Organise shipment of samples for haematology, biochemistry and PK analysis
  • Collect and carry out analysis of urine samples
  • Collection and storage of filter paper samples for performance of molecular studies on malaria
  • Recording results of laboratory evaluations
  • Keeping record of all laboratory activities
  • Perform laboratory quality assurance for all laboratory procedures
  • Perform other tests as requested by the clinician
  • Requisition of laboratory supplies

Qualifications:

DIPLOMA : Medical Laboratory Technology or its equivalent from a recognized institution – Mandatory

Certifications:

  • Diploma Certificate/Transcript – Mandatory
  • Certification in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) – Mandatory
  • Ordinary and Advanced-level Certificate – Mandatory

Skill & Experience:

  • Accurate collection, labeling, processing, storage and shipment of samples
  • Timely and precise execution of laboratory assays in line with SOPs
  • Adherence to QC procedures and participation in proficiency testing
  • Delivery of results within defined timelines to support clinical and study needs
  • Proper use, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory equipment
  • Complete and accurate recording of results and adherence to GCP/GLP and regulatory requirements
  • Inventory control, proper storage, and timely ordering of reagents and consumables to avoid stock-outs – Mandatory
