The organization specializes in the distribution and retail of motorcycles, genuine spare parts, after-sales services, and local motorcycle assembly, supported by a growing branch and distribution network across Uganda.
Job Summary
The Legal Officer/Counsel owns the group's legal exposure and manages its police and regulatory relationships, protecting the business across its retail, financing and recovery operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Draft, review and enforce all dealer, retail and financier contracts.
- Manage stolen-bike cases end-to-end, including the legal process and documentation.
- Own employee contracts in collaboration with the HR Manager.
- Manage the group's police cases and coordinate directly with police on active matters.
- Coordinate with police stations to secure the release of recovered or repossessed bikes.
- Advise the business on legal risk across retail, financing and recovery operations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Qualified lawyer (Bachelor's Degree in Law, enrolled as an advocate)
- 4–8 years' experience, with contract and asset-recovery/debt-recovery exposure strongly preferred.
- Practical, hands-on, and comfortable dealing directly with police, courts, and recovery situations (not a purely advisory role)
