Job Description

Prepare and apply slurry or oil based flavorings over continuous product beds using pressure nozzles and atomization systems.

Ensure the mechanical reliability, calibration, and hygiene of liquid spraying machinery and positive displacement pumps.

Protect finished product quality and line productivity by maintaining precise dosing rates and minimizing processing downtime.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Mix and prepare liquid slurries and oil based flavor formulations according to established recipes and operational targets.
• Apply flavor coatings evenly over continuous product beds utilizing high pressure nozzles and atomizers.
• Calibrate pump pressures and nozzle flow rates to maintain consistent application volumes and eliminate ingredient wastage.
• Inspect, dismantle, and clean pressure spray nozzles, atomizers, and strainers to prevent clogs and cross contamination.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and routine condition checks on spray rigs, dosing pumps, fluid lines, and valves.
• Diagnose mechanical, fluid flow, and pressure faults systematically using equipment manuals, gauges, and operating history.
• Execute safe isolation, pressure release, and lockout tagout procedures before conducting any maintenance or intrusive repairs.
• Record machine operating parameters, slurry batch details, calibration results, and maintenance interventions in shift logs.
• Coordinate with upstream and downstream processing operators to align spray delivery with product bed speeds and line handovers.

Education Qualifications & Experience

Education Qualifications

Certificate or Diploma in Food Technology, Plant Maintenance, or Mechanical Maintenance.

Bachelor's Degree, Higher Diploma, Ordinary Diploma, National Diploma, National Certificate, Craft Certificate, trade certificate, or recognized apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, Automation and Control, Instrumentation, Plant Maintenance, Mechanical Fitting, Welding and Fabrication, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Automotive Engineering, Water Engineering, Chemical Technology, Civil or Building Engineering, Plumbing, Marine Engineering, or closely related technical disciplines.

Recognized UBTEB, TVET vocational awards, or relevant statutory and trade credentials.

Experience

At least 1 year of hands on experience handling liquid dosing or spraying machinery.
