Job Purpose
The Logistics Officer will be responsible for the overall coordination and management of procurement, inventory, fleet management, and supplier relations. The ideal candidate will ensure effective logistics support to all NAOP programs and departments, ensuring that supplies and services are delivered efficiently, timely, and cost-effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate all procurement activities in compliance with NAOP policies and donor regulations.
- Source quotations, negotiate realistic and fair prices, and liaise with suppliers for timely delivery.
- Maintain an up-to-date supplier database and foster strong vendor relationships.
- Oversee receipt, storage, and distribution of stock items, including food, scholastic materials, and office supplies.
- Ensure accurate stock-taking, maintain inventory records, and prepare regular stock reports.
- Implement inventory controls to reduce waste, losses, and stock-outs.
- Ensure all NAOP vehicles and motorcycles are properly maintained, serviced, and operated by safety and organizational policies.
- Maintain vehicle and maintenance records, and coordinate with drivers and riders for optimal fleet usage.
- Track fuel usage and report any irregularities.
- Prepare timely procurement, logistics, and stock reports for management.
- Ensure documentation and record-keeping are complete and compliant with audit requirements.
- Assist in developing and implementing logistics policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in logistics, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in a non-profit or educational setting.
Key Competencies and Requirements
- Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in inventory and procurement software/tools.
- Valid driver’s license (added advantage for motorcycle operation permit).
- Strong integrity, reliability, and ability to work under minimal supervision.
