Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented Logistics & Fleet Manager to provide strategic and operational leadership in managing all logistics and fleet operations. This critical role ensures timely, safe, and cost-effective movement of goods and personnel while maintaining high fleet performance and regulatory compliance.
The successful candidate will optimize transport operations, lead a team of drivers and logistics staff, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that support business growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics Management:
- Develop and execute logistics strategies for timely, cost-effective movement of goods
- Negotiate and manage contracts with logistics service providers and transporters
Fleet Management:
- Oversee entire fleet operations including maintenance, fuel management, and vehicle tracking
- Implement fleet monitoring systems (GPS, fuel cards) and optimize vehicle allocation
Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure compliance with transport regulations and conduct safety audits
- Manage insurance claims and lead accident investigations
Leadership:
- Supervise drivers and logistics staff, conduct performance appraisals and training
Reporting & Improvement:
- Prepare performance reports and lead cost reduction and efficiency initiatives
Required Qualifications
Education:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, or related field
- Professional certifications in logistics, supply chain, or fleet management (added advantage)
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years in logistics, fleet, or transport management
- Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, distribution, or similar operational sectors preferred
- Hands-on experience with fleet tracking systems, fuel management tools, and logistics software
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of fleet operations, vehicle maintenance, and transport regulations
- Excellent planning, coordination, and organizational capabilities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proven cost-control experience
- Effective leadership and team management abilities
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and supplier management skills
- High integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to safety standards
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities
