JOB PURPOSE:
The Motion Graphic Designer is responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and producing visually engaging motion graphics to enhance online video content. This role merges graphic design principles with animation techniques to create dynamic elements—such as lower-thirds, infographics, explainer motion graphics, transitions, intros, and outros—that elevate the storytelling value of social media and marketing videos. The Motion Graphic Designer collaborates closely with Video Editors, Producers, and other creative roles to ensure that all visual content aligns with brand identity and project objectives.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conceptualization & Design
- Develop creative concepts, storyboards, and style frames for animated graphics and visual effects.
- Translate scripts, briefs, and creative direction into compelling motion designs, ensuring alignment with branding.
- Propose fresh, modern styles and approaches to maintain engaging visual content for social media platforms.
Animation & Execution
- Use industry-standard software (e.g Adobe After effects, Cinema4 D, Blender, or Motion) to produce high-quality 2D or 3D motion graphics.
- Create animated elements such as titles, lower-thirds, logos, transitions, and end screens.
- Collaborate with Video Editors to integrate motion graphics seamlessly into final video products.
Brand Consistency & Quality Control
- Maintain consistency in color palettes, typography, and visual styles according to brand guidelines.
- Review and refine motion graphics based on internal feedback and performance data (e.g., engagement metrics).
- Ensure all final animations and graphics maintain high production values and technical standards.
Collaboration & Communication
- Partner with creative leads (e.g., Head of Creative, Video Production Supervisor, Senior Video Editor) to understand project requirements, timelines and deliverables.
- Present concepts and drafts to stakeholders and incorporate feedback efficiently.
- Coordinate with other designers, illustrators, and external vendors when required.
Innovation & Trend Awareness
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging design tools, and motion graphics techniques to keep creative output fresh.
- Experiment with new styles and motion design approaches that resonate with social media audiences.
- Research and recommend software, plugins, or practices that boost workflow efficiency and creative impact.
Asset Management
- Organize and maintain a library of motion graphic assets, templates, and visual elements for quick reference and reuse.
- Ensure project files and source materials are well-documented and easily accessible to the broader production team.
- Adhere to best practices for file naming, folder structures, and version control.
Qualifications and Experience:
Academic: Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Motion Graphics, Animation, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
Professional: A strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of motion graphic and animation work.
Experience: 2–4 years of experience creating motion graphics or animations for marketing, advertising, or social media projects

- Proficiency in design and motion graphics software (e.g. Adobe After Effects, Premier Pro Cinema 4D or Blender, Photoshop and Illustrator)
- Solid understanding of typography, color theory, layout design, and composition principles.
- Familiarity with 2D/3D motion pipelines and rendering processes.
- Knowledge of video formats, compression techniques, and social media platforms specifications.
Soft Skills
- Strong communication skills to convey design ideas clearly and incorporate feedback.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
