Job Summary

The Nursery Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment for young children. The role involves planning and delivering age-appropriate learning activities, supporting children's social, emotional, and cognitive development, and fostering positive relationships with parents and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning

• Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons and learning activities.
• Promote children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
• Use creative teaching methods, including play-based learning, songs, storytelling, and educational games.
• Prepare learning materials and maintain an attractive classroom environment.

Classroom Management

• Create a safe, inclusive, and child-friendly classroom.
• Supervise children during classroom activities, meals, and playtime.
• Encourage positive behaviour and good social skills.
• Maintain accurate attendance and learner progress records.

Learner Assessment & Support

• Monitor and assess children's learning and developmental progress.
• Identify learners requiring additional support and implement appropriate interventions.
• Provide regular feedback to parents or guardians on children's progress.

Collaboration & Administration

• Work closely with fellow teachers and school administration.
• Participate in school meetings, events, and professional development activities.
• Uphold the school's values, policies, and safeguarding standards.

Minimum Qualifications

• Certificate, Diploma, or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Development (ECD), Early Childhood Education, or a related field.
• Registration with the relevant education authorities is an added advantage.

Experience

• Previous teaching experience in a nursery or early childhood learning environment is an added advantage.
