Job Summary
The Operations Intern will gain practical, hands-on experience within the day-to-day operations of the IsDB Regional Hub in Kampala. Working under direct supervisory guidance, the intern will support project coordination, meeting logistics, and essential administrative workflows while contributing directly to active development projects. This role offers a unique professional development window to bridge academic knowledge with international development practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Operations: Participate in everyday operational tasks and track project cycles assigned by the supervisor to reinforce academic interests.
- Logistics & Coordination: Organize hub meetings, compile preparatory session materials, and manage logistical support before, during, and after events.
- Document Review: Audit program documentation, track partner deliverables, review field reports, and generate performance statistics/analyses.
- Communications: Draft and document project success stories from the regional hub for internal publication within the official IsDB newsletter.
- Administrative Support: Execute general office assistance including preparing PowerPoint presentations, scanning, electronic filing, and documentation data entry.
- Knowledge Sharing: Prepare and deliver at least one structured knowledge-sharing session for the regional hub team on an operational area of interest.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Must have graduated with a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral Degree within the past 12 months.
- Target Majors: Project Management, Economics, Engineering, Agriculture, Health (including Medical Doctors/health-related tracks), or Communications.
- Technical Skills: Good IT command, basic project management understanding, and proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Language Skills: Fluent verbal and written command of the English language. Proficiency in a second working language of the bank is an added advantage.
- Core Competencies: Ability to work independently, robust communication skills, and effective team-working capabilities.
