WomenSave is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in the United States and International NGO in Uganda. We are on a mission to empower unbanked women in last mile communities to meet financial goals and weather economic shocks with financial literacy training, individual coaching, access to mobile money and custom savings plans.
Overview
WomenSave is looking for an Operations Officer to support core administrative and finance functions, among others, and ensure our organization is efficient and effective. She will work 40 hours per week, travel 15% and report to the Country Director.
Responsibilities
- Administrative: attend regular staff meetings, support staff trainings, meet with local government and support the Country Director as needed.
- Communications: draft updates for social media and the website.
- Finance: maintain accurate records, draft monthly bank reconciliations, prepare quarterly reports, support external audit and procurement.
- Human Resources: help onboard new employees and maintain their files. Monitoring Evaluation & Learning: support external evaluation.
- Policies & Procedures: prepare annual compliance reports for all policies (e.g., anti money laundering, personal data protection) and review and update existing manuals (e.g., employee handbook) as needed. And other tasks as assigned.
Compensation
UGX 1,500,000/= per month
Qualifications
- Required: commitment to WomenSave mission, fluency in English, degree in Business Admin or equivalent, familiarity with Excel and Google Sheets and work experience in financial inclusion.
- Preferred: female, from Western Uganda (Kanungu/Rukungiri) and knowledge of Quickbooks or similar accounting software.
