Deployment
Deployment should be carried out in a timely manner and all assignments should be covered,if not the Controller should be informed to contact client or to be briefed what to tell the client incase he/she calls.
Guard Checks/Monitoring
Periodical Radio/call checks with the guards should be carried out to ensure alertness, both night and day shifts.
Incidence Reporting
Incidences occurring the previous day/night should be promptly handed over by the day/nightshift Controllers to the Operations Departments on completion of the day/night shift and immediately up-date Operations by phone or radio on incidences that require immediate attention.
Alarm Monitoring and Activation
All activations should be monitored and the Quick Response Force (QRF) dispatched without delay. The message should be relayed three times, including the physical address, clients name to ensure that it is understood. The situation on the ground should be confirmed and a report filed. The Controller should endeavor to give proper directions to the QRF including the fastest/most convenient route.
Communication
The Controller should ensure that radio/phone communication is monitored and radio/phone messages are relayed as necessary.
Clients’ Calls
Al clients’ calls should be responded in the suited manner. Were the Controller is uncertain about how to handle the situation relayed by the client; he/she should seek the assistance from the Office responsible. Where it is not possible to respond to the client immediately, then he/she should advise the client that the call will be returned in the shortest possible time.
Assignments
All Controllers should have full knowledge of all operative assignments, call signs and the clients’ details. Uncovered assignments should be immediately reported to Operations.
Daily Briefs
The controller should brief in writing HR/Administrator and operations Manager on the general situation at the end of every shift.
Vehicle Movements
A Controller should have full knowledge of the details of al company vehicles, motor cycles etc, and their movements. Any movement shall be on authorized instructions of the Controller on shift. Every authorized driver is required to log in and log out while driving he car in and out of the Head Office. All mobiles should be stationed at the designated standby locations at all times, unless they have been dispatched to respond to emergencies on instructions of the Control Room. Vehicle movement reports should be submitted on daily basis to the Operations and Transport officers.

The controller is the custodian of control room phones and radios, the controller must clearly monitor the usage of control room airtime.
