Job Description

Execute burst tests, leak tests, secure seal testing, and drop tests on PET bottles and closures to verify packaging integrity.

Safeguard product quality and reduce operational waste by identifying packaging defects early and ensuring compliance with approved company standards.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform burst tests, leak tests, secure seal testing, and drop tests on PET bottles and closures according to standard testing procedures.
• Operate secure seal analyzers and laboratory testing equipment safely and in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
• Identify, document, and report packaging defects, seal failures, and abnormal test results to production and quality teams.
• Maintain complete, legible, and traceable records of all test results, equipment settings, and inspection logs for audit readiness.
• Escalate serious quality deviations, recurrent defects, and equipment breakdowns immediately through established reporting channels.
• Follow all occupational health and safety, food safety, hygiene, and personal protective equipment protocols during testing activities.
• Coordinate with upstream and downstream operational teams to deliver accurate test information and smooth shift handovers.
• Maintain the cleanliness, calibration readiness, and basic upkeep of laboratory testing instruments and work areas.

Education Qualifications & Experience

Education Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or Higher Diploma in Science Technology, Food Science, Engineering, or closely related applied science disciplines

Diploma in Science Technology, Food Science, Engineering, or equivalent accredited technical field

National Certificate, Craft Certificate, or relevant vocational and technical training providing equivalent practical scientific or technical competence

Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) or Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) for trainee entry supported by internal company training

Experience

No prior work experience required.

Includes 2 weeks laboratory testing training upon hire.
