Key Responsibilities:
Reports to: Project Officer.
Location: Adjumani and Lamwo.
Key Result Areas:
Effective Project Implementation and sustainability.
Develop annual project activity plans and update quarterly in collaboration with key departments, oversee implementation to high standards by scope and timelines.
Provide technical assistance on sustainable environment management of natural resources, climate smart agriculture, and anticipatory messaging.
Deliver training sessions on ecosystem restoration, climate-smart agriculture, and sustainable resource use.
Support establishment and maintenance of demonstration plots as learning sites for communities.
Provide technical support in forest restoration, afforestation and nature-based enterprise development for improved livelihoods to selected groups.
Promote appropriate innovations and approaches on energy utilization, including green fuels, renewable energy, lighting, powering technologies and green livelihoods.
Promote restoration of degraded, fragile ecosystems through FMNR, sustainable landscape restoration practices at household, community and Institutional levels.
Provide technical assistance to participants on selection of high value tree varieties and resilient livelihoods.
Facilitate community meetings and awareness campaigns to promote environmental conservation and sustainable practices.
Provide business training and support on income generating activities, market analysis and value chain analysis.
Organize monthly field planning meetings with farmer groups and WVU departments to guide effective implementation.
Ensure core project models and approaches are implemented according to schedule and minimum standards.
Better living conditions for the affected persons as they will be able to meet most of their basic needs.
Awareness created among stakeholders on WV interventions in the area.
Organize monthly field planning meetings with farmer groups and WVU departments to guide effective implementation.
Improved farmers’ knowledge on sustainable natural resources management for enhanced production and productivity.
Organize monthly field planning meetings with farmer groups and WVU departments to guide effective implementation.
Participate and contribute in environment coordination meetings to support the project.
Community engagement and advocacy.
Mobilize refugee and host communities to actively participate in environmental restoration activities, such as tree planting, and soil conservation, while applying principles of resilience designs.
Conduct awareness on nature based solutions/enterprises among communities and local leaders.
Link farmer groups to government and partners to access additional social services.
Facilitate awareness campaigns on climate change impacts and the adaptation and mitigation measures.
Promote community adoption and production of improved energy saving cooking stove.
Promote environmentally friendly practices among communities, such as recycling, composting, and water conservation.
Strengthen community ownership of environmental initiatives through participatory approaches and co-design processes.
Make sure there is balanced gender representation amongst beneficiaries and leaders.
Assist in solving any conflicts among community members.
Organize monthly field planning meetings with farmer groups and WVU departments to guide effective implementation.
Improved relationship with consortium partners, OPM livelihood focal persons and local government line departments.
Strong cohesion among farmer groups and institutions.
Improved farmers’ knowledge on good agronomic practices for enhanced production and productivity.
