About the Role

YSAT is seeking a Project Finance Officer to ensure compliance, transparency, and efficiency across all financial transactions linked to the Kiryandongo PlayMatters implementation, including field bookkeeping, expenditure processing, burn rate monitoring, and monthly financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records of all cash and bank transactions using QuickBooks and ensure correct allocation to donor codes
  • Conduct monthly budget-versus-actual (BVA) analysis alongside the Project Team Leader to detect and address variances early
  • Review all financial claims, invoices, purchase orders, and per-diem sheets to verify full supporting documentation before making payouts
  • Manage Kiryandongo field office bank accounts and petty cash boxes and submit timely cash forecast requests to headquarters
  • Enforce compliance with YSAT policies, War Child Alliance donor regulations, and Ugandan tax statutory requirements (WHT and PAYE)

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (Accounting), Business Administration, or Finance; CPA or ACCA Level II progress is highly desirable
  • Minimum 3–4 years of accounting and finance experience inside an NGO framework, specifically handling multi-partner consortium budgets
  • Excellent proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel
  • Uncompromising personal integrity and a sharp eye for financial detail
  • Experience working with refugee-led organisations and consortium partners is an advantage
