JOB DETAILS:

The Board of Governors Kyebambe Girl's Scondary School is located in Fortportal City-Kabarole District Western Uganda invites qualified and competent applicants for the following:

Job Purpose

To provide high-quality teaching and learning of Runyoro-Rutooro, enabling students to develop strong language, communication and cultural competencies while supporting academic achievement and appreciation of local heritage.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The teacher will:

• Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans and teaching materials.
• Teach Runyoro-Rutooro effectively to assigned classes.
• Develop students’ listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.
• Conduct continuous assessment, tests and examinations.
• Mark and record students’ work accurately.
• Provide constructive feedback and remedial support.
• Apply learner-centred teaching methodologies.
• Promote the appreciation of Runyoro-Rutooro language, literature and culture.
• Encourage participation in language, debate, drama and cultural activities.
• Prepare students for internal and national examinations.
• Maintain classroom discipline and promote positive behaviour.
• Participate in departmental planning and meetings.
• Maintain appropriate teaching and assessment records.
• Participate in school activities, duties and examinations.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Head Teacher.

Minimum Qualifications

• A recognised Diploma or Degree in Education with Runyoro-Rutooro as a teaching subject.
• Appropriate registration with the relevant education authorities.

Experience

• Previous secondary-school teaching experience is desirable.

• Excellent command of Runyoro-Rutooro and English.
• Strong teaching and assessment skills.
• Effective classroom management.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to use innovative teaching approaches.
• Cultural awareness and sensitivity.
• Strong commitment to professional conduct and student safeguarding.
