Job Purpose
The Sales Representative will be responsible for driving revenue growth through the sale of solar, water, and power equipment within the assigned territory. The role focuses on business development, distributor network expansion, customer relationship management, and achieving monthly sales targets while ensuring compliance with company policies and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sales and distribution strategies to achieve or exceed company targets.
- Sell BES solar, water and power equipment.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities to expand our market reach in water pumping, irrigation, and solar markets.
- Establish and optimize distribution networks to ensure timely and cost-effective product delivery.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and retail customers.
- Follow up on inquiries and quotations submitted to clients (potential clients).
- Handle customer complaints and coordinate resolutions with internal teams.
- Conduct market research to understand customer needs, competitors, and pricing trends.
- Conduct Customer visits in assigned sales territory.
- Work closely with BES engineers to develop technically sound and cost-effective system designs
- Identify cross selling and upselling opportunities and pursue them to closure.
- Organise market activations to promote and sell BES water, solar and power equipment.
- Provide basic after-sales support and coordinate with BES technical teams for system commissioning and maintenance
- Coordinate with BES technical, operations, and finance teams to ensure timely delivery and invoicing.
- Maintain accurate customer records and sales data.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements in all sales and distribution activities.
- Prepare and present sales and distribution reports to your supervisor.
- Monitor distributor performance and provide training, support, and motivation.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years experience in field sales, preferably in solar, water systems, irrigation, power equipment, or related technical products.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Experience working with distributor or dealer networks is an added advantage.
- Strong sales negotiation and closing skills.
- Ability to understand technical products and explain system designs to customers.
- Strong market analysis and opportunity identification skills.
- Good reporting and documentation skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Ability to work independently and manage territory effectively.
- Resilience and ability to work under pressure.
