Job Description

Manage and execute accelerated shelf life chambers, rancidity testing, and packaging barrier performance evaluations over time to ensure finished product stability.

Deliver end to end laboratory inspection, sampling, and verification to generate reliable stability data and support R&D product development.

Safeguard food quality and safety by identifying product deviations, supporting root cause investigations, and maintaining full audit readiness.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Monitor accelerated shelf life chambers, testing conditions, and equipment parameters to ensure adherence to stability protocols.
  • Conduct rancidity testing, packaging barrier evaluations, and physical chemical assessments using approved laboratory methods.
  • Verify instruments, reagents, reference standards, and sampling plans for suitability and calibration before running tests and relying on data.
  • Record test results, instrument logs, and experimental observations accurately to maintain traceable and audit ready stability documentation.
  • Identify, document, and contain test deviations or non conforming samples, preventing false acceptance of unstable products.
  • Participate in evidence based root cause analyses and verify the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Prepare laboratory records, test methods, and data summaries to support UNBS, food safety, and customer quality audits.
  • Follow laboratory safety, hygiene, chemical handling, and personal protective equipment standards at all times.

Education Qualifications & Experience

Education Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree, Higher Diploma, Ordinary Diploma, National Diploma, or relevant technical laboratory qualification in Food Science, Food Processing Technology, Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, Laboratory Science, Environmental Health, Public Health, Quality Management, Packaging Technology, Agriculture, Applied Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related science or engineering discipline

Certifications in HACCP, ISO 9001, ISO 22000, food safety, internal auditing, or laboratory quality management are preferred where applicable

Experience

1+ year in product shelf life testing or laboratory work.
