Job Purpose
To provide high-quality ultrasound diagnostic services by performing accurate imaging examinations, ensuring patient safety and comfort, and supporting clinicians in effective diagnosis and patient management.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform ultrasound examinations using appropriate imaging techniques and protocols.
- Operate and effectively utilize ultrasound equipment, including linear, curvilinear, and endovaginal probes.
- Conduct abdominal, obstetric, gynecological, and other relevant ultrasound scans as required.
- Prepare patients for procedures and explain examination processes professionally.
- Ensure accurate identification, documentation, and recording of patient information.
- Produce clear and high-quality ultrasound images for clinical interpretation.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold professional ethical standards.
- Provide excellent customer care and ensure patients have a positive experience.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper handling of ultrasound equipment.
- Report equipment faults and support routine maintenance procedures.
- Work collaboratively with doctors and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in emergency/on-call services when required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Medical Imaging, Sonography, Ultrasound, or a related healthcare field.
- Relevant professional registration and valid practicing license.
- Proven experience operating ultrasound equipment.
- Demonstrated experience using:
- Linear probes.
- Curvilinear probes.
- Endovaginal probes.
- Previous experience in a clinical or hospital setting is preferred.
Skills and Competencies
- Excellent ultrasound scanning and diagnostic imaging skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good patient care and communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
- Professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Ability to handle emergency and on-call responsibilities.
Working Schedule and Benefits
Working Days: Monday to Saturday.
On-call Duty: Sunday (paid at 5,000 per patient attended).
Monthly Salary: UGX 1,100,000.
Weekly Allowance: UGX 10,000.
Note: Only qualified and experienced candidates will be considered.
