The Uganda National Council for Science and Technology (UNCST) is a government agency established in 1990 by an Act of Parliament (Cap 211 as amended) with a mandate to develop and implement strategies for integration of Science and Technology into the national development process. UNCST is inviting applications from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill the positions below based at its Offices on Plot 6 Kimera Road, Ntinda, Kampala:
Responsibilities or duties
- Receive and inspect stock to ensure accuracy and quality by verifying that all delivered items match with the specifications outlined in the delivery note and local purchase order (LPO).
- Prepare and issue Goods Received Notes (GRNs) for all accepted items.
- Accurately update stock cards and maintain electronic inventory records for all received items, ensuring timely and precise data entry into the inventory management system.
- Issue and register items from the stores to staff in compliance with the UNCST distribution procedures and stores retrieval systems.
- Carry out regular and timely store reconciliations and annual stock taking.
- Maintain optimal stock levels by proactively monitoring usage trends and initiating timely replenishment of store items.
- Prepare quarterly and annual store/stock reports.
- Carry out vendor evaluation/rating.
- Prepare and submit timely accountability for resources.
- Advise management on Stores best practices.
