Description
EBC is hiring a Treasury Accountant to support effective management of the company’s cash resources by ensuring accurate cash forecasting, bank reconciliations, treasury transactions, liquidity management, and compliance with treasury policies. The person will be responsible for maintaining strong controls over cash movements, supporting payment processes, and providing timely treasury reports to support business decisions
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda

“EBC” is the umbrella brand under which a consortium of dedicated in-house, virtual, associate Professionals & independent identical firms, with both local & International Experience come together to provide end to end Quality Advisory, Consulting & Outsourcing Services.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Cash Management & Treasury Operations
- Monitor daily cash positions across all bank accounts and provide regular cash position reports.
- Prepare daily cash flow updates and support short-term liquidity planning.
- Monitor cash inflows and outflows to ensure availability of funds for operational requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of treasury transactions.
- Ensure accurate and timely application of all receipts, CNs and DNs to respective TAR accounts.
- Analysis of various bank charges to ensure correct amounts are charged on company accounts.
- Ensure a maximum of 0.5% incidences of errors in receipting.
2. Bank Reconciliations
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly bank reconciliations for all company bank accounts.
- Investigate and resolve unreconciled items, including outstanding deposits, payments, and bank charges.
- Ensure all bank transactions are accurately captured in the accounting system.
- Follow up on aged reconciling items and ensure timely clearance.
- Reconciliation of GL accounts in the accounting system.
3. Reporting
- Prepare treasury reports including: ➢ Daily cash position reports ➢ Bank balance reports ➢ Treasury exposure reports
4. Compliance & Internal Controls
- Ensure compliance with treasury policies and finance procedures.
- Maintain proper documentation for all treasury transactions.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required treasury records.
- Identify and report control weaknesses or potential risks.
5. Accounting Support
- Prepare treasury-related journal entries.
- Reconcile treasury balances with the general ledger.
- Support month-end and year-end financial closing activities.
- Ensure accurate recording of bank charges, interest income, and financing transactions.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field.
- Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, or equivalent is an added advantage.
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in treasury, accounting, banking operations, or financial management.
- Experience in bank reconciliations and cash management
- Experience working with ERP/accounting systems
