Job Summary;
The selected candidates will be responsible for implementing and maintaining effective health, safety, and environmental policies to ensure compliance with national regulations and promote a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement and enforce HSE policies, procedures, and practices in line with legal and organizational requirements.
Conduct regular safety inspections and audits at project sites and company facilities.
Identify hazards, assess risks, and recommend corrective measures.
Deliver HSE training and awareness sessions to staff and contractors.
Investigate and report incidents, accidents, and near-misses, including root cause analysis.
Maintain HSE documentation and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Monitor use of PPE (personal protective equipment) and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
Liaise with regulatory bodies on HSE compliance matters.
Qualifications and Experience:
Certificate/Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
A recognized HSE certification (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, ISO 45001) is an added advantage.
At least 2 years of relevant experience in a similar HSE role, preferably in construction, oil & gas, or manufacturing.
Strong knowledge of Uganda's occupational health and safety regulations.
Good communication, report writing, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
