Description
Kenjoy Supermarkets is hiring Accounts Assistant (2) to play a crucial role in maintaining financial records and ensuring accurate financial data for our operations. This position offers a dynamic work environment where teamwork is essential. You will report directly to the Head of Finance and work closely with a small team of dedicated professionals. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, responsible, and possesses strong problem-solving skills.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.
- Prepare bank deposits by compiling data from cashiers, verifying and balancing receipts, and sending cash, checks, or other forms of payment to banks.
- Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Receive, record, and bank cash, checks, and vouchers.
- Monitor status of loans and accounts to ensure that payments are up to date.
- Reconcile records of bank transactions.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Essential Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or related fields.
Required Skills: Mathematics, Critical Thinking, Monitoring, Time Management, Speaking.
Technology Knowledge: Proficient in accounting software (specifically Ritebooks), ERP software (QuickBooks), MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
Language Proficiency: English and Luganda.
Preferred Qualifications
Certifications: A certificate in CPA is an added advantage.
Preferred Skills: Reading Comprehension, Speaking.
Preferred Knowledge Areas: Economics and Accounting, Computers and Electronics.
