  1. JOB SUMMARY

The Africa Operations Officer (AOO) will work with the Sr. Vice President of Africa Operations and Programs to ensure that 4Africa’s operations are aligned with the strategic plan and priorities outlined in the Vision, Traction & Organizer (VTO).
Reporting to the Sr. Vice President, Africa Operations and Programs, the AOO will drive execution, operational excellence, and organizational alignment across Africa operations. The role will lead and manage day-to-day operations while ensuring that strategic priorities are translated into clear, actionable plans, delivered with excellence.
The AOO will provide oversite over the Africa Senior Management Team to support program planning, coordination, and execution across all functional areas, including operations, finance, human resources, and technology.
He/she will serve as a central coordination point between Africa operations and the US-based leadership team, ensuring alignment, effective communication, and seamless execution across geographies.
In addition, the AOO will lead strategic and cross-functional initiatives, support donor and partner trips, contribute to business development efforts, and ensure that organizational systems, processes, and workflows are standardized, efficient, and scalable.
This position is a senior leadership role and is a part of the US/Africa Senior Leadership Team; the job holder is also expected to work closely with the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Sr. Vice President of Strategy, Impact, and Communications, & Sr. Vice President of Administration & Finance, all based in Fort Worth, Dallas, USA.

  1. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Lead, Manage & Accountability (LMA)
      • Provide effective and inspiring spiritual, strategic, and operational leadership to 50+ staff across Africa, ensuring alignment with the mission and values of LEAD 4Africa.
      • Support and assist the Leadership Management Team in achieving organizational priorities and advancing the mission.
      • Ensure the right person and right seat and that teams are functioning effectively.
      • Guide team priorities, workflows and execution against agreed goals and Rocks.
      • Cascade organization-wide communications to ensure that there’s clarity & everyone is on the same page.
      • Lead the implementation of operational strategies aligned with LEAD 4Africa’s core pillars (Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Academics, and Discipleship – LEAD).
      • Lead the development & implementation of the Annual Operating Plans (AOP).
      • Drive accountability through the establishment and tracking of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and EOS scorecards. Ensure decision-making is aligned with the Vision, Traction & Organizer (VTO) and strategic priorities.
      • Balance competing priorities by discerning when to say “no” to good ideas to focus on a few high-impact initiatives.
      • Analyze operational and financial data to identify performance gaps and improvement opportunities.
      • Lead cross-functional collaboration to design and implement high-quality programs and initiatives.
      • Lead & implement continuous program quality improvement and assessments.
      • Ensure compliance with sector standards, frameworks, and operational policies (Labor laws, etc.) and other statutory obligations (registration, taxes, and payroll).

    • Maintain a consistent leadership communication rhythm through structured weekly 1:1 meeting with key leaders to assess priorities, identify challenges, and drive resolution.
    • Serve as a central coordination point for aligning leadership priorities across teams and geographies.
    • Identify, prioritize, and track key issues, ensuring timely follow-through and resolution.

    • Work closely with the HR Manager to facilitate training needs analysis and coordinate staff development and capacity-building initiatives.

  • Financial Management and Planning
    • Oversee budget development, planning, monitoring, and execution.
    • Work closely with the Finance Manager to conduct monthly and quarterly financial reviews, including Budget vs. Actual and P&L analysis.
    • Ensure alignment between financial plans and operational execution, making timely adjustments as required.
    • Support the development and execution of business plans aligned with organizational strategy.
    • Promote financial discipline, cost optimization, and efficient resource allocation.
  • Process Development, Standardization, and Operational Excellence using the Entrepreneur Operating System methodology and 90.IO Software system.
    • Lead the development, documentation, and standardization of core processes across Africa operations.
    • Ensure key workflows, systems, and operating procedures are clearly defined, implemented, and continuously improved.
    • Drive operational efficiency, consistency, and scalability across all functional areas.
  • Strategic Projects and Executive Coordination
    • Lead and coordinate strategic and cross-functional projects that do not fall within a single department but are critical to organizational success.
    • Provide structured support to leadership and teams in executing high-priority initiatives.
    • Ensure clarity of ownership, timelines, and deliverables across all strategic projects.
    • Support preparation of executive reports, board updates, and strategic briefs.
  • ICT Support and supervision
    • Provide oversight and supervision of ICT functions across Africa operations, ensuring systems effectively support program delivery and operations.
    • Oversee planning, procurement, deployment, and maintenance of ICT hardware and infrastructure.
    • Ensure reliability, security, and efficiency of ICT systems, including timely resolution of technical issues.
    • Support the implementation and optimization of digital tools and platforms to enhance organizational effectiveness.
    • Maintain proper asset management, lifecycle tracking, and replacement planning for ICT equipment.
    • Ensure data protection, system security, and backup protocols are in place and adhered to.
  • Donor Engagement and Visit Management
    • Coordinate and manage donor, partner, and stakeholder visits across Africa operations in coordination with the US office.
    • Develop structured visit plans, itineraries, and engagement experiences aligned with organizational priorities.
    • Ensure high-quality execution of visits, including logistics, program exposure, and stakeholder engagement.
    • Capture and synthesize insights, feedback, and follow-up actions from donor engagements.
    • Strengthen systems for donor relationship management and engagement tracking.
  • Business Development, Investment and Sustainability Support
    • Lead the development and execution of in-country business development strategies to strengthen local funding, partnerships, and long-term financial sustainability.
    • Identify, develop, and manage in-country investment opportunities and income-generating initiatives that align with the mission and operational priorities of LEAD 4Africa.
    • Drive the design and implementation of sustainable funding models, including enterprise-based and partnership-driven approaches.
