The position holder will report to the Chief Agency Officer
Role Purpose
The Agency Data Analyst will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to support the agency’s strategic and operational goals. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills, proficiency in data tools, and a commitment to fostering a positive workplace culture. The Data Analyst will work closely with the Agency Business Development and Operations Analyst Manager, sales teams, and other departments to provide actionable insights, optimize performance, and ensure compliance with Uganda’s insurance regulations.
Main Responsibilities
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Data collection and management: Gather, clean, and organize data from insurance management systems, CRM platforms, and other sources to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Performance analysis: Analyze agency performance metrics, such as premium growth, sales targets, client retention rates, and claims ratios, to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Report generation: Create and deliver regular reports (e.g., weekly, monthly, quarterly) on key performance indicators (KPIs), providing actionable insights to the Agency Manager and senior leadership.
- Market and client insights: Conduct market research and analyze client data to identify customer needs, preferences, and opportunities for product development or cross-selling.
- Predictive analytics: Use statistical models and forecasting techniques to predict sales trends, client behavior, and market opportunities.
Operational Support
- Process optimization: Identify inefficiencies in agency processes through data analysis and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency and client satisfaction.
- Claims and policy analysis: Analyze claims data to identify patterns, assess risk profiles, and support underwriting decisions.
- Compliance monitoring: Ensure data-related processes comply with Uganda’s insurance regulations (e.g., Insurance Regulatory Authority of Uganda guidelines) and Jubilee’s internal policies.
- Technology integration: Leverage data analytics tools, CRM systems, and insurance management platforms to streamline workflows and improve decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Master’s degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related discipline is an added advantage.
- Professional certifications in data analytics (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate) or insurance-related qualifications (e.g., Certificate of Proficiency in Insurance, CII) are highly desirable.
Relevant Experience
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in data analysis, preferably within the insurance, financial services, or related industries in Uganda or East Africa.
- Proven experience analyzing insurance-related data, such as premium growth, claims trends, or client retention metrics.
- Familiarity with Uganda’s insurance market dynamics and regulatory environment, including compliance with the Insurance Regulatory Authority of Uganda (IRA).
- Demonstrated expertise in using data analytics tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL, Excel) and visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to generate insights and reports.
- Experience with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) and insurance management systems for data management and reporting.
