DESIGN, SUPPLY, DECOMMISSION, INSTALL AND COMMISSIONING OF AUXILIARY SWITCHGEAR UPGRADE FOR UNIT 14 AND 15 AT KIIRA POWER STATION (KPS), JINJA.

1. Uganda Electricity Generation Company Limited has allocated funds to be used for Design, Supply, Decommission, Install and Commissioning of Auxiliary Switchgear Upgrade for Unit 14 and 15 at Kiira Power Station (KPS), Jinja.

2. The Entity invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the provision of the above supplies.

3. Bidding shall be conducted in accordance with the procedures contained in the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act, Cap 205 and the Regulations made under the Act and is open to all bidders.

4. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information and inspect the bidding document at the address given below from 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday to Friday.

5. The bidding document which has been prepared in English may be purchased by interested bidders upon payment of a non-refundable fee of UGX 100,000/- (Uganda shillings One Hundred thousand only). The method of payment will be in the bank on UEGCL A/C No. 9030011177327, Stanbic Bank upon which bidders shall present a bank deposit slip as proof of payment. The document will be issued electronically upon presentation of a receipt of payment.

6. Bids must be delivered to the address below before or on 3rd July 2026 at 11:00am. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of UGX 30,000,000/- (Uganda shillings Thirty Million only). The Bid Security must be valid until January 29th 2027. Late bids shall be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at the address below on 3rd July 2026 at 11:30am.

7. All bidders are encouraged to send technical staff during site visit period for purposes of compiling comprehensive and quality bids. The site visit will be on 18th June 2026 at Kiira Power Station at 11.00am.

Note: Bidders attending the site visit are expected to adhere to the power plant’s current Ebola precautionary safety measures. Please note that non-compliance may result in denial to the site access.
