1. ORGANIZATIONAL BACKGROUND

Light for Disability Transformation (LIDIT) is a community-based organization committed to promoting inclusive development by empowering deaf persons and other persons with disabilities (PWDs) through holistic, family-centered approaches. LIDIT works at the grassroots to dismantle stigma, promote integration, and create inclusive systems where PWDs are recognized as contributors to development. Our interventions focus on inclusive education, economic empowerment, advocacy, and capacity building under our flagship program known as SIGNO.

2. PROJECT OVERVIEW: HEARD PROJECT

The HEARD Project (Home-based Empowerment and Advocacy for Guardians of Deaf Children in Koboko) is a 10-month initiative implemented by LIDIT with financial support from the Haella Stichting Foundation. The project aims to strengthen the capacity of families, particularly parents and guardians of deaf children, to provide inclusive care, psychosocial support, and empowerment at the household level.

To achieve this, LIDIT has developed a unique tool—the LIDIT Household Inclusion Framework (LHIF)—which classifies households based on their level of disability inclusion and guides tailored interventions for transformation.

3. POSITION: DATA COLLECTORS (4 POSITIONS)
