Job Summary
The Clinical Officer is responsible for providing quality outpatient and inpatient clinical care through patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up. The role involves promoting preventive healthcare, maintaining accurate medical records, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care
- Assess, diagnose, and treat patients according to established clinical guidelines.
- Prescribe medications and appropriate treatment plans.
- Manage medical emergencies within the scope of practice.
- Refer patients requiring specialized care to appropriate facilities.
Patient Management
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
- Educate patients on disease prevention, treatment plans, and healthy lifestyle practices.
- Participate in health promotion and community outreach programmes where required.
Compliance
- Adhere to professional standards, hospital policies, and ethical guidelines.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement activities.
- Perform any other duties assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications
- Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Community Health or an equivalent qualification.
- Valid practicing licence from the relevant professional council.
Experience
- Previous clinical experience is an added advantage.
