Responsibilities or duties,

Main Job Functions:

Content creation

  • Create, schedule, and publish engaging content and campaigns across multiple social media platforms and websites.
  • Demonstrate strong copywriting skills and asset creation to develop messaging that aligns with MTN’s brand personality and prompts audiences to take action.
  • Collaborate with MTN's creative agency and marketing stakeholders to build campaigns, content, and strategies for social media engagement.
  • Execute a content plan to increase awareness about integrated campaigns, product awareness, product education, uptake, and usage.
  • Ensure timely and comprehensive coverage of MTN events, live online sessions, and initiatives on social media platforms.
  • Implement GTM (Go-To-Market) through social media.
  • Execute A/B and multivariate growth tests to optimize social media strategies.

Community Management

  • Support the growth and nurturing of MTN's social media audiences, aiming to increase engagement rate and valuable actions.
  • Be audience centric, focusing on platform and community moderation, as well as direct audience engagement.

Analytics and Reporting

  • Deliver regular analysis and reports on social media metrics, content performance, and campaign results.

Trend Monitoring and Research

  • Staying updated on the latest trends, tools, and best practices - research industry trends, monitor competitor activities, and identify new opportunities for the brand to leverage on social media platforms.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills),

Education:

  • A minimum of degree in digital marketing, Communication, PR or related field from an accredited University/Institution

Experience needed,

Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years total experience in marketing and/or communications.
  • Experience in Telecommunication or Fintech is preferred.
  • Experience working in a global/multinational enterprise with a good understanding of emerging markets is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies

  • Experience managing social media platforms for telecommunications or Fintech brands, part of a content team or marketing agency.
  • Hands-on knowledge of social media management tools, an understanding of web analytics tools (social and web)
  • Proficiency with at least four social media platforms including TikTok, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram YouTube, Facebook, and website content management.
  • Understanding of SEO, SEM, email marketing, and other digital marketing channels.
  • An analytical eye and a good sense for the type of content that performs best depending on platform and objective.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze data and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Experience with content funnels and using video as a core social media marketing asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong content marketer.
  • Proven ability to prioritise and differentiate what matters from the noise, meeting deadlines without sacrificing quality.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and aptitude for forging trusting relationships across diverse, cross-functional teams.
  • Videography and editing skills are an added advantage.
  • Willingness to travel for internal events.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
