Background
The role is responsible for integrating data across multiple sources, developing data pipelines, finding trends in data sets and developing algorithms to help make raw data more useful to the enterprise.
Responsibilities
- Build data pipelines to ingest data from multiple sources into the Data warehouse.
- Optimize and develop ETL or ELT procedures to ensure data orchestration is done within the acceptable threshold.
- Evaluate business needs and objectives and develop datasets to address the needs.
- Prepare data for prescriptive and predictive modeling.
- Research and adopt best practices for managing data.
- Incorporate Master Data Management best practices within the data ecosystem.
- Integrate raw information from different sources.
- Explore ways to enhance data quality and reliability.
- Identify opportunities for data acquisition.
- Develop analytical tools and programs for exploring data.
- Collaborate with data scientists and modelers on several projects.
- Collaboration with the Data Protection Officer: provide support for the execution of key deliverables for the Personal Data Protection Office including training staff on personal data protection practices.
- Data breach management: Identify any data breaches and develop strategies to mitigate against breach occurrence including loss or misuse of personal data.
- Develop automated tracking mechanisms to support reporting and identification of data breaches across the enterprise.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Mathematical or IT related field like Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Software engineering, Data science, or any other highly quantitative field.
- Formal Certification in; Data Science, Big Data or Data Analytics.
- At least two (2) years of work experience in an IT or Finance field or any busy environment working with multiple data sources.
