The Disability Inclusion Facilitator (DIF) will ensure that young people living with disabilities are empowered and meaningfully included across all RETI programme interventions. Support disability-inclusive approaches, build relationships and networks, mobilize youth with disabilities, and provide technical guidance to the program locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote and apply disability-inclusive programming approaches aligned with RETI frameworks.
- Support DCA and program stakeholders in offering disability-inclusive skilling, coordinate entrepreneurship, and financial inclusion opportunities for young people.
- Mobilize and engage youth living with disabilities to participate in programme activities.
- Strengthen partnerships with District Disability Unions, community structures, government departments, CSOs, and private sector actors.
- Conduct community meetings, awareness and dialogue sessions, and capacity-building on disability inclusion.
- Support collection of disability-inclusive data, tracking progress, documentation of lessons and success stories of young people.
- Contribute to content development and marketing for disability inclusion activities and young people.
- Participate in ongoing mentorship and coaching led by the Disability Inclusion Academy and DCA.
- Adhere to safeguarding, gender, accountability, and human rights principles.
- Prepare and submit timely reports and workplan updates.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s in Social science, Education, Counselling, Rural development, Development Studies or related fields (should have graduated only within the last 2 years).
- Passionate about disability inclusion and youth empowerment engagements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic leadership and mobilization skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team.
- Comfortable traveling within the district to host and refugee communities.
- Basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of data collection and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in English is required. Knowledge of local languages is an added advantage.
- Strong work ethics, self-driven, open-mindedness, and professionalism.
