1. About The Book
How to Sell Anything in Uganda is a practical book written to help people become more confident in selling:
- Themselves
- Their skills
- Their ideas
- Their businesses
- Their products
- Their services
The book is based on practical sales principles and everyday experiences and is intended for people who want to become more confident and effective at communicating value and making sales.
Available Formats: E-book — UGX 15,000 | Hard copy — UGX 25,000
2. About The Opportunity
I am building a network of District Book Sales Representatives across Uganda to help take How to Sell Anything in Uganda to readers in different parts of the country. The goal is to have a one primary sales representative in each district, subject to availability, verification and performance.
This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys: Talking to people, building networks, selling, using WhatsApp and other social media, finding opportunities, and earning based on results.
This is not a salaried employment position. It is a flexible, commission-based sales opportunity where your earnings depend on the number of confirmed sales you generate. The model is simple: Find potential customers → introduce the book → make the sale → earn your commission.
3. Commission Structure
Representatives will earn the following commission on confirmed sales:
|
Product
|
Customer Price
|
Representative Commission
|
|
E-book
|
UGX 15,000
|
UGX 2,000
|
|
Hard copy
|
UGX 25,000
|
UGX 3,000
|
Example: If you sell 10 hard copies in a day: 10 × UGX 3,000 = UGX 30,000 commission, 10 × UGX 2,000 = UGX 20,000 commission for e-books. If you sell a combination of both formats, commission will be calculated according to the number of confirmed sales of each format. There is no fixed monthly salary or guaranteed income. The more confirmed sales you generate, the more you earn.
4. WHY THIS ROLE EXISTS
The purpose of the District Book Sales Representative is to make the book accessible to people beyond the author's immediate network. Many people have valuable knowledge, skills, ideas or businesses but struggle to communicate their value and sell confidently. The representative helps connect the book with people who may benefit from it. Your role is therefore not simply to push a book. It is to: Identify a need → introduce a useful resource → communicate its value → help the customer make an informed purchase.
5. Your Key Responsibilities
A. Customer Identification
Identify individuals, groups and organisations that may benefit from the book, including:
- Teenagers and students
- University and college students
- Job seekers

- Small business owners
- Professionals
- Salespeople
- Side-hustle seekers
- Mothers and parents
- Youth groups
- Schools
- Churches
- Business associations
- Community groups
- Professional networks
- Personal development communities
Representatives are encouraged to identify additional customer groups within their districts.
B. Marketing & Awareness
Promote the book through appropriate channels, including:
- WhatsApp Status
- WhatsApp groups
- Facebook
- TikTok
- Instagram
- Personal networks
- Referrals
- Networking events
- Schools and student communities
- Business communities
- Professional networks
- Community groups
- Direct conversations
Representatives may develop creative and appropriate marketing approaches for their districts.
C. Sales & Conversion
Representatives will:
- Introduce the book to potential customers.
- Explain who the book is intended for.
- Communicate the benefits and value of the book accurately.
- Respond to basic customer questions.
- Follow up with interested customers.
- Encourage referrals.
- Support customers through the purchasing process.
- Record and report confirmed sales.
Representatives must sell honestly and professionally. They must not make false claims, misrepresent the contents of the book, or promise results that have not been established.
D. Customer Follow-Up
Sales do not always happen during the first conversation. Representatives are expected to follow up appropriately with interested potential customers through: WhatsApp, telephone calls, personal conversations, referrals, and other appropriate communication channels. The aim is to build relationships rather than pressuring people into purchasing.
E. Referral Development
Representatives should actively encourage satisfied customers and their networks to recommend the book to others. The representative should continuously work towards building a local customer network rather than relying on one-time sales.
6. District Representation
The vision is to build a Uganda-wide network of District Book Sales Representatives. Each successful representative will be assigned a specific district. Your district becomes your market.
Representatives will be encouraged to:
- Understand their local market.
- Identify potential customer groups.
- Build relationships with local networks.
- Identify schools, businesses, organisations and groups that may purchase multiple copies.
- Develop referral networks.
- Identify local sales opportunities.
- Build a sustainable customer base.
Where practical, the aim is to appoint one primary representative per district. However, appointment is subject to: Availability, identity verification, suitability, agreement to the terms of engagement, and sales performance. The author reserves the right to appoint additional representatives where necessary.
7. What You Will Receive
Successful representatives will receive:
- Authorised District Sales Representative status.
- An assigned district.
- A unique representative identification/sales code.
- Book information and key selling points.
- Approved pricing information.
- Marketing materials where available.
- Guidance on how to present and sell the book.
- Support from the author.
- Commission on confirmed sales.
- Opportunity to grow your sales territory or responsibilities based on performance.
8. Physical Book Stock & Accountability
Physical books may be provided to representatives on a controlled consignment basis. New representatives will generally start with a limited quantity of books. The quantity issued may depend on: Expected demand, location, sales opportunity, previous sales performance, and ability to account for stock.
Representatives receiving physical books must:
- Sign for all books received.
- Keep accurate records of books received and sold.
- Sell at the authorised price unless otherwise approved.
- Account for all money received from sales where applicable.
- Keep unsold books safely.
- Return unsold books when requested or when the arrangement ends.
- Not transfer, lend, give away or resell books outside the agreed terms.
- Not sell books below the authorised price without prior approval.
Additional stock may be issued after satisfactory accountability and sales performance.
9. E-Book Security
To protect the author's intellectual property, representatives will not receive unrestricted access to the master e-book file for independent distribution. The preferred process is: Representative identifies customer → customer makes payment through the authorised payment process → payment is confirmed → e-book is delivered to the customer → representative receives UGX 2,000 commission.
Representatives must not:
- Share the e-book file without authorisation.
- Forward the file to non-paying customers.
- Upload the e-book to public platforms.
- Sell or distribute unauthorised copies.
- Modify or reproduce the book.
- Claim ownership of the book.
Unauthorised reproduction or distribution may result in termination of the representative arrangement and other action where appropriate.
10. Sales Tracking & Reporting
Each representative will receive a unique identification or sales code. Sales may be tracked using: Representative code, date of sale, product purchased, format purchased, amount paid, payment confirmation/reference, customer reference where necessary, and commission payable.
Representatives will be expected to submit sales information within the agreed reporting period. Accurate reporting is essential because commission payments will be based on confirmed and verifiable sales.
