Our client, a Preschool in Kampala, is looking for an experienced and innovative Assistant Principal to lead and support curriculum development across the Preschool and Playgroup departments.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field
• Proven ability to develop and implement effective EYFS curricula.
• Strong understanding of child-centered and play-based learning approaches.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.
• Experience in implementing inclusive academic strategies

Experience needed

• Minimum of 5 years teaching experience in an international curriculum and at least 2 years in a leadership role.

• Overseeing curriculum planning, development, and implementation ensuring alignment with school expectations and learning objectives.
• Reviewing and approving weekly class plans and maintaining consistency and instructional rigor.
• Providing mentorship and professional support to teachers, strengthening instructional practice and addressing development needs.
• Monitoring classroom instruction through regular observations to ensure consistent, creative, and high-quality teaching aligned with the Principal’s standards.
• Leading teacher planning meetings and curriculum review sessions as directed by the Principal to drive alignment, reflection, and continuous improvement.
• Identifying training needs and organizing professional development initiatives
• Collaborating with school leadership and management to integrate co-curricular activities and special events into the curriculum.
