Background:
The Bible Society of Uganda is hiring a Finance Manager responsible for developing and implementing financial strategies, overseeing accounting operations, and managing the organization’s assets to provide accurate financial information that supports effective decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise departmental operations and establish effective structures and processes to achieve goals.
- Prepare, implement, and monitor the organization’s Annual Budget, cash flows, and financial plans.
- Oversee financial reporting, project accounting, and preparation of accurate financial statements and committee reports.
- Manage investments, property, and credit extensions while ensuring timely fulfillment of financial obligations.
- Support pricing decisions for Scriptures and evaluate competitor pricing.
- Formulate strategic and financial policies that promote cost efficiency, value for money, and long-term sustainability.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers and other stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance or related field is required. A Masters’ degree or a relevant MBA is an added advantage.
- Full professional qualification in CPA or ACCA and a Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Financial Management and Auditing.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, Financial Markets, Banking and financial reporting.
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and human resources.
- Understanding of relevant national laws and government regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong IT skills with experience using ERP systems.
