Role Overview
MIYA is a rapidly growing Ugandan digital skills and workflow support ecosystem committed to advancing Digital Citizenship for creatives, businesses, and youth. In line with securing major new project funding for the MIYA Initiatives arm, we are seeking a highly motivated, entry-level Founding Program & Operations Associate.
This is a developmental role designed for an individual ready to commit to MIYA's mission. The Associate will play a key role in supporting the Founder across MIYA's administrative duties, operational workflows, and the groundwork necessary to secure MIYA's first major grants and contracts.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, trustworthy, and comfortable balancing both digital coordination tasks with occasional in-person support within Kampala.
Key Responsibilities
I. Executive & Administrative Support
- Manage and coordinate the Founder's calendar, schedules, and appointments.
- Prepare weekly briefs, reminders, and priority lists for key organizational tasks.
- Draft simple internal correspondence and prepare meeting summaries.
- Maintain organized digital filing systems using Google Drive/Notion.
- Support planning and coordination of meetings, workshops, and partner engagements.
II. Operational & Financial Coordination
- Assist in setting up and maintaining MIYA's core operational systems and internal documentation.
- Provide logistical support for MIYA programs, including printing, deliveries, and other light errands.
- Gather and organize expense receipts, invoices, and financial documents for submission to the Accountant/Treasurer.
- Maintain records, schedules, and operational checklists for project compliance.
III. Communications & Content Coordination
- Schedule and publish pre-created content on social platforms as instructed.
- Maintain content calendars and ensure timely posting across platforms.
- Support basic communication tasks for partner projects such as Palm School.
Minimum Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Communications, Social Sciences, ICT, or a related field.
- Entry-Level (0–2 years) experience in administration, coordination, or operational support.
- Strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, and a commitment to professional ethics.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong command of English.
- Comfortable using digital tools (Google Workspace, Notion, Canva, WhatsApp, etc.).
- Must be Kampala-based and able to run occasional errands when required.
