JOB PURPOSE
To support fraud risk management and forensic investigations by collecting, analyzing and reporting evidence while leveraging automation and data analytics to enhance investigative efficiency, prevent, detect fraud and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support fraud risk management and forensic investigations involving industry, insider threats and data breaches.
- Support in conducting end-to-end forensic acquisition, preservation, examination, and analysis of evidence from multiple sources.
- Develop and implement automated scripts and solutions for data parsing and case workflow efficiency.
- Leverage data analytics to extract, analyze, and correlate data from disparate systems for investigative purposes.
- Produce high-quality forensic reports suitable for legal, regulatory or executive review.
- Collaborate with fraud response teams, legal and IT stakeholders during investigations.
- Working with Group FRM & FI put in place principles, structured set of processes, systems, and controls designed to prevent, detect, and respond to fraud risks for Old Mutual Uganda.
- Stay current with trends in cybersecurity threats, forensic tools and investigative techniques.
ANTI-MONEY LAUNDERING (AML) EXPECTATION
The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring adherence to, implementation of, and adoption of Compliance, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and Sanctions-related policies, procedures, and process requirements within Old Mutual and its subsidiaries. This includes execution of customer due diligence processes, ensuring compliance with Know-Your-Customer (KYC) standards, conducting ongoing and enhanced due diligence, and maintaining data quality. Additionally, the role involves identifying and monitoring potential AML, Sanctions, or Compliance breaches and unusual activities, and escalating these concerns to the Risk and Compliance Office for further action.
Key competencies
- Fraud risk detection using scripting language and analytics tools
- Familiarity with Digital Forensics Tools: EnCase, FTK (Access Data), Intella, Cellebrite, X-Ways.
- Automation: Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools such as UiPath, Blue Prism, or Automation Anywhere
- Data Analytics: Excel (advanced), Power BI, IDEA, or other analytics platforms
- Computer literacy
- Clear understanding of chain-of-custody and legal implications of digital evidence
- Report Writing: The ability to write in a neutral, forensic tone that can stand up in a disciplinary hearing or a court of law
- Professional Skepticism: The ability to "trust but verify" information provided by Line 1.
- Stakeholder Influencing: Persuading business heads to invest in better tools or change "archaic" processes.
- Ethical Fortitude: Maintaining absolute integrity, especially when investigating high-level "direct appointments" or conflict-of-interest cases.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Law, Bachelor of Commerce, or a related field.
- Professional certifications (any of the following will be an added advantage)
- GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA) or equivalent
- Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)
- Certified Anti-Fraud Specialist (CAFS)
Experience:
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in general investigations, digital forensics, cyber fraud investigations, or related fields.
- At least three (3) years of middle-level management experience.
