On behalf of our client Buildbase contractors, we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced graduate trainee engineer to work in Kampala.

Job summary
Buildbase Contractors is looking for a motivated Graduate Civil Engineer to support the delivery of ongoing construction projects. The successful candidate will work closely with senior engineers and site teams to ensure works are executed to specification, on schedule, and within budget.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in interpreting architectural and structural drawings for on-site implementation.
- Support day-to-day site supervision to ensure works comply with design specifications and quality standards.
- Carry out quantity take-offs, material estimates, and progress measurements.
- Monitor adherence to health, safety, and environmental requirements on site.
- Prepare daily/weekly site reports and update the project engineer on progress and issues.
- Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and site foremen on execution schedules.
- Support quality control checks, testing, and documentation of works completed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a closely related field.
- 2 – 3 years of relevant post-graduation experience in building or infrastructure construction.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and standard engineering software
- Sound understanding of construction methods, materials, and site practices.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
- Registration/membership with a recognised engineering body is an added advantage.
- Ability to work on-site and manage multiple tasks under supervision.
