Job Description and Purpose
To manage the delivery of IT projects within an agreed time and budget constraints. To work with various departments as well as clients, to determine and manage effective solutions to facilitate the delivery of IT Service Delivery projects.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of multidisciplinary IT service delivery projects.
- Prepare and provide weekly status reports on new and ongoing projects.
- Organize and participate in internal project meetings and project kick-off meetings.
- Assist in estimating project timelines, identifying risks, and developing mitigation strategies.
- Support the development and maintenance of project plans using project management tools, tracking progress against baselines and reporting variances.
- Assist with project closure activities in line with the organization’s IT project management methodology.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and escalate risks or deadline concerns to senior management in a timely manner.
- Maintain awareness of new and emerging technologies relevant to the role.
- Understand project dependencies and liaise with team members to support issue resolution.
- Coordinate with third-party suppliers and vendors where required to ensure timely delivery of external products and services.
Education and Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in information technology, business administration or business management.
- Prince 2 or PMP certification is an added advantage.
- Experience in managing IT projects.
Skills And Competencies
- At least one (1) year of experience in IT project management or project support.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and support project leadership.
- Good documentation management skills and proficiency with project management tools.
- High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Basic financial planning and cost management awareness.
- Sound understanding of IT concepts and relevant industry standards.
