To attain its strategic objectives efficiently and effectively, Housing Finance Bank is seeking to hire a qualified, versatile, and self-driven individual for the position stated below.
Job Purpose
The Manager of Digital Lending will play a pivotal role in driving the bank’s digital lending strategy. This position is responsible for overseeing the digital lending operations, enhancing customer experience, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will lead a team consisting of an Officer of Recoveries, Officer of Partnerships, and Officer of Governance, ensuring effective collaboration and performance management.
Responsibilities
- Drive strategies and initiatives aimed at achieving business targets in line with the Bank strategy for Digital lending, such as balance sheet growth, profitability, among others.
- Provide leadership at total Bank level, for digital lending opportunities, in liaison with other departments.
- Track benefits realization for each digital lending solution rolled out.
- Ensure compliance to the credit policy and regulations issued by Bank of Uganda (BOU)
- Identify and establish partnerships with fintech companies and other stakeholders to enhance digital lending offerings as well tapping into new opportunities.
- Ensure timely collections and recoveries for all digital loans given out to customers or borrowers, to maintain an acceptable risk profile.
- Champion staff capacity building in line with the Digital lending business for scaling, change management among other benefits.
- Ensure that all internal controls are adhered to, in proactively ensuring that the unit gets satisfactory audit ratings.
Key Result Areas
Responsible for delivering business & financial targets as will be agreed upon using different parameters especially sales, balance sheet growth, profitability, cost management and portfolio quality.
Qualifications/Requirements
Education & Training
- A Business Degree in Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Management or any relevant field.

Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience in banking or financial services, preferably progressive experience in Digital transformation, Digital lending, customer journeys management, segment management, among others.
- Strong understanding of digital lending platforms, innovations and technologies.
- Proven track record of leading Teams for minimum of 4 years.
- Good stakeholder management skills.
- Must possess good credit risk management skills & experience
- Must have critical thinking, analytical, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Business Development skills and negotiation skills
- Sound understanding of laws and regulations relating to credit management in Uganda.
- Good communication skills both verbal and written
Business Behaviours
- The ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in written form in a professional manner is essential.
- Ability to build sustainable working relationships across organizational, corporate, and cultural boundaries.
- Ability to demonstrate positive image and role model HFBs values.
- Good presentation skills
- Creative and adaptable to change.
- Ability to conceptualize issues
