JOB DETAILS:

Job Summary

The Midwife is responsible for providing comprehensive maternal and newborn healthcare services, including antenatal care, labour and delivery support, postnatal care, and health education to ensure the wellbeing of mothers and infants.

Key Responsibilities

Maternal Care

• Provide antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care to mothers.
• Monitor labour and safely assist with deliveries.
• Assess maternal and newborn health and respond to emergencies within the scope of practice.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.

Patient Education

• Educate mothers on pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, family planning, and newborn care.
• Promote safe motherhood and healthy maternal practices.

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain accurate maternity records and reports.
• Adhere to infection prevention protocols and professional standards.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure quality maternal care.

Minimum Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Midwifery.
• Valid registration and practicing license from the relevant professional regulatory body.

Experience

• Previous experience in maternity services is an added advantage.
