On behalf of our client SINOPEC, we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced NDT Coordinator to work at Site in Uganda
Position Overview
The NDT Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, supervising, and ensuring the effective implementation of all NDT activities across the project. The position requires a strong technical background in NDT methods, knowledge of international codes and standards related to pipelines and piping, and the ability to oversee NDT operations to meet project quality, safety, and schedule requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and compilation of the Company Quality Plan and all relevant QA/QC documentation prior to the commencement of fabrication and construction activities.
- Monitor and witness site NDT activities, inspections, and tests in accordance with the approved Quality Plan, ITPs, and relevant quality procedures.
- Plan, organize, and coordinate all NDT workflows to ensure compliance with project specifications, standards, and timelines.
- Review, interpret, and ensure compliance with NDT procedures, qualifications, and demonstration requirements as per project specifications.
- Oversee and verify PAUT and TOFD inspections for pipeline and piping works, including scan plan verification, data interpretation, and technical guidance to NDT personnel.
- Interpret radiographic film for piping and pipeline welds.
- Ensure that all NDT equipment and consumables meet project requirements and verify that calibration and performance checks are performed and documented in accordance with specifications and manufacturer recommendations.
- Review and approve NDT documentation and personnel qualifications.
- Prepare and maintain project-specific Quality Control Procedures and Inspection & Test Plans related to NDT.
- Conduct audits of NDT subcontractors to verify compliance with project and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate verification activities and perform cross-checking of NDT results as required.
- Manage and track inspection requests, ensure proper documentation and timely submission of all NDT reports.
- Contact with project management and client representatives to resolve comments, technical deviations, and queries related to NDT activities.
- Ensure all NDT examinations and coverage comply with the defined specifications and client requirements.
- Act as the focal point for all NDT-related matters within the project.
- Support research and development programs related to NDT technologies and applications.
- Prepare and monitor NDT budgets and assist in cost control measures.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Education & Certification:
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree with Valid NDT ISO Level III certification (minimum in RT, UT, MT, PT, PAUT, and TOFD methods).
Experience:
Minimum 10 years’ experience in NDT applications on pipelines and piping weld.
Technical Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of international codes and standards applicable to pipeline and piping NDT; familiarity with NDT equipment, calibration procedures, and consumable requirements.
Computer Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and related software tools.
Additional Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; excellent analytical, organizational, and planning abilities; proficiency in report preparation and documentation; knowledge of procurement and bidding processes; high sense of responsibility, teamwork, confidentiality, and professionalism.
