Happy Stars Junior School is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Nursery Teacher to join its Early Years team. The successful candidate will create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment that supports the academic, social, emotional, and physical development of young learners.
The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education and committed to fostering a positive and engaging classroom experience.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons and activities that promote holistic child development.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Foster children's cognitive, social, emotional, language, and physical development through play-based learning.
- Assess learners' progress and maintain accurate records of their development.
- Prepare teaching aids and learning materials to support classroom instruction.
Classroom Management
- Maintain positive classroom discipline and encourage appropriate behaviour.
- Supervise learners during classroom activities, playtime, meals, and other school activities.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children at all times.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and child-friendly classroom environment.
Parent & School Engagement
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding learners' progress and wellbeing.
- Participate in school meetings, professional development programmes, and extracurricular activities.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to promote a positive learning environment.
- Support the implementation of school policies and procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
- Certificate or Diploma in Early Childhood Development (ECD), Nursery Teaching, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Valid teaching qualification.
- Previous teaching experience in a nursery or early childhood setting is an added advantage.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Passion for working with young children.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Willingness to commit to a one-year employment contract.
