Happy Stars Junior School is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Nursery Teacher to join its Early Years team. The successful candidate will create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment that supports the academic, social, emotional, and physical development of young learners.

The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education and committed to fostering a positive and engaging classroom experience.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning

  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons and activities that promote holistic child development.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Foster children's cognitive, social, emotional, language, and physical development through play-based learning.
  • Assess learners' progress and maintain accurate records of their development.
  • Prepare teaching aids and learning materials to support classroom instruction.

Classroom Management

  • Maintain positive classroom discipline and encourage appropriate behaviour.
  • Supervise learners during classroom activities, playtime, meals, and other school activities.
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children at all times.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and child-friendly classroom environment.

Parent & School Engagement

  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding learners' progress and wellbeing.
  • Participate in school meetings, professional development programmes, and extracurricular activities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to promote a positive learning environment.
  • Support the implementation of school policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Certificate or Diploma in Early Childhood Development (ECD), Nursery Teaching, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Valid teaching qualification.
  • Previous teaching experience in a nursery or early childhood setting is an added advantage.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Passion for working with young children.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Willingness to commit to a one-year employment contract.
