PHARMACY TECHNICIAN – 1 POSITION
Job Purpose
The Pharmacy Technician supports the safe procurement, storage, preparation, dispensing, distribution, and management of medicines under the supervision of the responsible pharmacist or authorised professional.
Key Activities and Responsibilities
- Receive and inspect medicines and pharmaceutical supplies.
- Check quantities, batch numbers, expiry dates, and product condition.
- Store medicines according to required conditions.
- Assist with dispensing and issuing medicines in accordance with prescriptions and approved procedures.
- Label medicines accurately.
- Maintain stock records and pharmacy registers.
- Monitor stock levels and identify medicines requiring replenishment.
- Conduct stock checks and stock rotation.
- Identify expired, damaged, or recalled medicines and handle them according to procedure.
- Maintain appropriate records of controlled and restricted medicines where applicable.
- Provide basic medicine-use information within the scope of practice and supervision.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the pharmacy.
- Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and pharmaceutical handling procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
- Recognised Pharmacy Technician qualification.
- Registration with the relevant professional regulatory body.
- Valid practising licence where applicable.
- Relevant pharmacy experience is an advantage.
